The website that made sense three years ago may not fit the business you have today.
Maybe the brand changed. Maybe the offer changed. Maybe the company grew. Maybe the site still looks fine but isn't generating results.
A redesign should start by understanding what changed.
Design · Structure · Conversion · Search · Technology
Built in Anchorage. Serving Alaska businesses and select clients nationwide.
A website redesign is the process of improving an existing website's visual design, content structure, mobile experience, conversion paths, technical foundation, functionality, or platform while preserving valuable assets where appropriate.
Mandeaux Digital evaluates the existing site before deciding whether the right move is a focused refresh, structural redesign, platform migration, or complete rebuild.
A lot can change after a website launches. New services. New markets. New customers. New positioning. New pricing. A stronger brand. A different sales process. More content. Better technology.
Many established Alaska businesses are still operating websites built years ago, before mobile behavior, AI search, modern local SEO, and today's customer expectations changed the experience. The website often gets left behind.
Before we redesign anything, we divide the current website into three categories.
Keep
A redesign can accidentally destroy things the existing site already earned. The goal is to protect useful equity where it still serves the business.
Fix
Some problems do not require a complete rebuild. We may be able to improve what exists without throwing it away.
Rebuild
Sometimes the existing architecture, platform, theme, content model, or technical setup creates more limitations than value. That may require a deeper rebuild.
Does the site still look and sound like the business?
Does the site make the company feel established and credible?
Can visitors quickly understand what you do?
Is there a clear next action?
Does the experience work beautifully on a phone?
Is the structure helping or hurting organic visibility?
Has the site become difficult to organize as the business grew?
Is the platform limiting what the business needs to do?
What happens after someone contacts the company?
A redesign should make the business easier to understand, easier to trust, easier to navigate, and easier to act on.
After
The original site belongs to a real business. The redesigned version is a Mandeaux design concept shown for illustration, not a completed client project.
A website may look acceptable on a desktop and still create friction for most visitors. Mobile redesign requires rethinking navigation, content order, button size, forms, spacing, media, calls to action, product interaction, booking, and speed.
Mobile is not a smaller desktop.

Design affects perception. Structure affects understanding. But the next action matters too. A redesign should make it easier for the right visitor to call, book, buy, submit, request, compare, explore, or take the next step.
Then the systems behind the site need to support that action.
Changing a website without understanding its existing search footprint can create avoidable losses. Important redesign considerations can include:
A new design should not require starting over in search.
We don't guarantee preservation of rankings. We evaluate existing search assets and plan migrations to reduce avoidable loss.
WordPress websites often accumulate years of plugins, pages, theme modifications, unused content, redirects, custom code, forms, integrations, and SEO history.
That means redesigning WordPress requires more than changing the theme. We evaluate what is useful, what is creating technical debt, and whether the existing WordPress installation is worth rebuilding or restructuring.

Shopify stores often outgrow their original theme, navigation, collections, merchandising, mobile experience, and product-page structure.
A redesign can focus on improving brand experience, product discovery, mobile shopping, collections, product pages, navigation, content, conversion, and supported integrations.
A business can outgrow the technology underneath the website. If the platform makes normal business requirements unnecessarily difficult, redesigning the surface may only postpone the real issue.
We evaluate whether the current platform still fits the business.
Mandeaux Digital currently builds Website Lite, custom WordPress, and custom Shopify. We don't claim support for other custom website platforms. If your current site is on another platform, we can evaluate whether migrating it to one of our supported website solutions makes sense.
We learn what changed in the business since the existing website was created.
We evaluate design, content, structure, mobile, conversion, search, technology, and integrations.
We determine what deserves to stay, what needs improvement, and what should be replaced.
We determine the next version of navigation, content, pages, customer journeys, design, media, and conversion paths.
We build the redesigned experience with the appropriate platform and project scope.
We carefully move approved content, implement redirects where appropriate, test critical functions, and launch the new site.
We don't promise zero SEO loss. We don't promise every element can be migrated. We evaluate the existing environment before committing to scope.
Not all analytics will always be available. We work with what exists and explain what we can and can't evaluate before the project begins.

Mandeaux itself changed as the business grew. The brand evolved. The customers expanded beyond Alaska. The technology changed. The marketing changed. The business became something larger than the original version.
That experience shapes how we approach redesigns. Growth creates new requirements. A website should be allowed to evolve with the business.
